What the CE Mark Means

The CE mark, short for Conformité Européenne, is a declaration by a manufacturer that an electronic product meets applicable European Union requirements for safety, health, and electromagnetic compatibility before being placed on the EU market. It signifies that the product complies with relevant EU directives and can be sold within the European Economic Area.

Products sold in the EU must meet specific essential requirements under harmonised directives before the CE mark can be affixed. This may include EMC-related directives and others that apply based on the product’s function and category.

How VPI Supports CE Mark Compliance

VPI Technology no longer performs full CE Mark testing or certification in-house. However, we continue to help clients prepare for CE compliance through guidance, pre-scan evaluations, and assistance in navigating third-party testing requirements.

Pre-Scan Evaluations

We offer pre-scan evaluations in our anechoic chamber located in Draper, Utah. These assessments identify potential electromagnetic or emissions concerns early in development. Pre-scan results can help guide design adjustments and improve readiness before formal testing with an accredited laboratory.

Official CE marking generally requires testing and conformity assessment through accredited third-party laboratories. VPI can help you:
