For the past decade, VPI Technology has provided regulatory testing and certification services following the acquisition of the Utah-based operations of CCL-Nemko. During that time, many customers utilized VPI’s open-air test site in Wanship, Utah.
In recent years, development in the surrounding area has increased significantly. New neighborhoods, cell towers, Wi-Fi networks, and other sources of RF interference have raised background noise levels at the site. As development continues, maintaining the controlled conditions required for reliable open-air regulatory testing has become increasingly difficult.
As a result, VPI has closed the Wanship test site and discontinued FCC and CE regulatory testing services. Existing customer test data will continue to be securely maintained by VPI for 10 years, in accordance with regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
VPI will continue to offer pre-scan testing services in its anechoic chamber located in Draper, Utah. These pre-scans provide early insight into potential compliance-related issues and help clients prepare for third-party testing.
In addition, VPI continues to provide full electronic product development and prototyping services, along with engineering support to help address complex hardware and software challenges. For clients requiring formal FCC or CE testing, VPI can provide recommendations for qualified third-party testing laboratories on a case-by-case basis.
VPI remains committed to supporting customers through electronic product development and compliance planning as its laboratory services evolve.
For questions regarding this transition or for assistance with future testing needs, customers are encouraged to contact VPI directly.
